I wanted to share a momentous achievement with you and reflect on my journey as a Business Consultant. Last Friday, I was deeply honoured to receive the Business Person of the Year Award at the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber Business Awards. It’s a recognition that means the world to me and symbolises the culmination of a 15-year journey that began with the establishment of my very first business, Crystal Clean.
Fifteen years ago, I took my first steps into the business world as an entrepreneur, filled with dreams, hopes, and no shortage of determination. Setting up my first business venture was a daunting but exhilarating experience, it was a time of discovery, learning, and adapting to the challenges that being a business owner brings. Over the years, my journey has seen me transition from a Business Owner to an established Business Consultant where I dedicate my time to help business owners find the tools they need to change and grow. The sense of satisfaction I get from doing this role is so rewarding. Here I share the story of my early struggles and triumphs, highlighting the essence of resilience that became my guiding principle.

Receiving the Business Person of the Year Award was a moment I will remember and cherish forever. The honour, given to me by the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber, recognised my contributions to the business community and my commitment to excellence in my field. It serves as a reminder that hard work, dedication, and a commitment to continuous improvement can lead to remarkable achievements.
Inspire and mentor the next generation
As a Business Consultant, I feel a sense of responsibility to inspire and mentor the next generation of entrepreneurs too. I hope that my journey serves as a source of motivation for others looking to make their mark in the business world. The business landscape is ever-evolving and competitive, but with the right attitude and the willingness to learn, success is within reach. The future holds great promise and I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I remain deeply committed to my work as a Business Consultant and to helping businesses thrive and adapt to changing market dynamics. My goal is to continue making a positive impact and providing innovative solutions that empower businesses to reach their full potential.
My journey as a Business Consultant has been a remarkable and fulfilling experience. I want to thank all those who have supported me on my journey to date and those who have been a part of my success. As I look toward the future, I can see it to be very busy; I’ll be developing the team at Crystal Clean further, supporting the Chamber, working with many clients old and new and supporting the organisations I work with as a Non Exec Director. I’m excited to continue to make a difference and help other businesses succeed. We all get the days where we question whether being in business is worth it, even after 15 years, but Friday’s award ceremony was a wonderful way to be recognised by my peers and goes further to cement my commitment as a Business Consultant
